Margin and Mission: A Practical Framework for Achieving Financial Sustainability
March 24, 2025 Recording‘Health systems, especially academic medical centers, have been increasingly challenged financially in the last five years. Achieving financial sustainability is a complex endeavor that demands a comprehensive review of the enterprise's operations, service line planning, stakeholder buy-in and careful execution of other margin-improving initiatives. Each of these steps requires a multidisciplinary approach to be successful and is accompanied with its own set of obstacles and barriers. This session offers practical tools and tips from key stakeholders responsible for not only overcoming said barriers but also executing on financial sustainability initiatives within Cleveland Clinic Florida. Perspectives from finance, physicians and operations will shine a light on what actionable steps health systems can take to realize positive margins and sustain their missions of serving patients.
