Reimagining Maternal Health Access, Innovations and the Future of Care
Maternal health is a cornerstone of public health and a critical barometer of how well our healthcare system serves its most vulnerable populations. Yet in one of the world’s wealthiest countries, the U.S. continues to experience a maternal health crisis. In recent years, the U.S. maternal mortality rate for Black women was nearly three times higher than other populations, representing mothers, families, communities and systemic failures. Addressing maternal health is about more than reducing mortality but also ensuring access to respectful, high-quality care, investing in upstream interventions and building a healthcare workforce and delivery system that centers the needs of patients before, during and after pregnancy.
In this forward-looking discussion, leaders across clinical innovation and health system strategy will explore what it truly means to reimagine maternal health in America. The panel will spotlight scalable innovations in care delivery, bold policy solutions and models that are working to close healthcare gaps, especially for Black, Indigenous and rural communities.
Whether through digital tools, community-based partnerships or new approaches to workforce development, panelists will share how to realign the status quo to create a maternal health ecosystem that is safer, smarter and more just.
