Biography
Dr. Megan Mahoney works within a department with a recognized legacy of defining the role of academic family medicine in the social justice movement. Throughout her career, Dr. Mahoney has built and led sustainable initiatives in health technology integration, quality improvement and health equity for health care organizations. Her research has focused on the impact of primary care team cohesion on burnout and the influence of equity and inclusion on individual and team wellbeing. She has served in senior level positions in the U.S. and internationally, developing innovative and transformative approaches to proactive and personalized team-based primary care that empowers patients, health care providers and communities. Dr. Mahoney is currently a board governor for The Doctors Company, has also served on several health system boards, American Medical Association task forces and was invited twice to testify before Congress on health care topics. Dr. Mahoney earned her BA in molecular and cellular biology at the University of California, Berkeley, her MBA at Brandeis University and her MD at the University of California, San Francisco.
