Biography

Dr. Richelle Koopman is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center St. Margaret Family Medicine Residency. Dr. Koopman is a practicing family physician and has been a clinical and health services researcher for 25 years, with funding from the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality and other federal agencies for work in clinician and patient decision support to manage hypertension. Dr. Koopman is committed to making it easy for patients and physicians to make good decisions and improve health.

Dr. Koopman is a graduate of the Association of Departments of Family Medicine LEADS fellowship, the Executive Leadership in Academic Medicine (ELAM) fellowship and the Harvard Program for Chairs of Clinical Services. She serves on the editorial advisory board of the Annals of Family Medicine and is immediate past president of North American Primary Care Research Group and past chair of the Council of Academic Family Medicine. She is currently certifying in healthcare administration, leadership and management through the American Board of Family Medicine.
