Interns: Applications open February 15, 2026

The ACHE Summer Enrichment Program is a 10-week, paid internship for graduate students pursuing an advanced degree within healthcare or a related field. Participants in the program are paired with a healthcare organization where they benefit from experiential learning, mentorship, networking and the opportunity to learn from experts in the field. Experienced administrators serve as preceptors and mentors, providing support and career advice as well as critical early-career connections. Participants also receive virtual instruction from ACHE, led by expert healthcare leadership faculty.

The Summer Enrichment Program seeks participants with a demonstrated commitment to serving and improving their communities, to strengthen the pipeline and build the next generation of executives and leaders in healthcare.

Previously managed by the American Hospital Association in partnership with ACHE, the Summer Enrichment Program is now fully managed by ACHE.

“This internship gave me the opportunity to learn about every position that it takes to efficiently run a hospital. I was able to see the entire spectrum of healthcare. This exposure prepared me for future roles and allowed me to not be afraid when taking initiative on projects. I assisted with a program that aims to provide transportation for patients to access clinics.”

Bobby Paikatt, Main Line Health (Wynnewood, Pa.)

“The Summer Enrichment Program prepared me to be met with anything in my future roles by providing me with professional time management, project management and communication skills. I valued my time in the hospital and appreciate all the connections with team members, patients and doctors that have guided me through this journey.”

Melissa Jackson, Stanford University School of Medicine (Stanford, Calif.)

“During the Summer Enrichment Program, I worked on expanding a mobile integrated health program to include COPD patients. Being able to see the collaboration of various departments to achieve a final goal was insightful. This program showed me the value of collaboration and networking to efficiently work together as a team.”

Sharanda Jackson, Brattleboro Memorial Hospital (Brattleboro, Vt.)
